Training Assessment

In-Home: This assessment is the starting point for all training with Mountain Canine Training. All dogs are required to be assessed by a Mountain Canine Trainer prior to a training plan.

Obedience Training:

Beginner Obedience can be taught to a range of dogs, from those who are brand new to training or for those who are experiencing high aggression.

Intermediate Obedience: advancing beginner obedience the intermediate is taught in a variety of environments to advance the dog’s learning experience outside of the home.

Advanced Obedience: after environmental exposure from the beginner and intermediate, the advanced phase builds upon already known commands and introduces new commands that will lead to the off-leash training phase.

Off-Leash Training: The key to off-leash training is perfecting the on-leash training. Here we make the transition from on-leash to off-leash through repetition and integrating the handler’s ability to communicate with the dog with the skills they have learned from previous phases of training.

Specialized Training:

Canine Good Citizen: This is the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen’s test. You and your dog will work with our Mountain Canine Trainer who is a CGC Evaluator. Over the course of several specialized training sessions, your dog can become a Canine Good Citizen which is the first step toward further certification.

Trick Training: Mountain Canine Training will work with your dog on any and all tricks you are interested in learning.

Nose Work: Let Mountain Canine Training help your dog learn how to track, and use his/her nose to do good work.
